Option not available in US?
First time poster here. Not actually an MB owner, yet though.
Recently we visited France and Germany, while in Paris we rented a 2019(?) C200d from Avis. Drove it around France and Germany for 2 weeks and 2100km. Absolutely loved this car. For a rental, this car seemed well appointed, with digital instrument cluster, larger center display, and for a diesel it performed remarkably. Well, the wife began mentioning her aging Volvo, and it's issues, so it's off to the dealer I go.
One thing I really liked about this car was it's proximity alert system, which displayed next to the backup camera in the center display. It was a representation of the car with yellow and red bars all around that showed any nearby obstructions. The bars started with yellow changing to red if I got too close, with increasing beeping warning tones. I asked the dealer about this and he seemed not to have a clue, but said it might be part of Active Park assist. I do know it was activated by a button on the console, left of the touchpad, with a camera logo on the button. I cannot seem to find a description of this function, or exactly which option it might be and the dealer seems vague.
If I could duplicate this option, or for that matter, the entire car, in the US, I would buy it in a heartbeat.
Can someone help me make sense of this? Thanks in advance....
