2015 C300 2WD aux / second battery - where is it and why has it failed?

Wife is getting an auxiliary battery failure warning on the dash.

I expect the battery is either kaput or has gotten disconnected somehow (e.g. junk in the trunk).

Questions:

1. Where is it?

2. What to look for?

3. How easy to replace?

4. Kosher MB or AutoZone?

The warning on the dash is a bit misleading as your car doesn't have an aux batt, instead it has a capacitor which Mercedes call a Voltage Converter. It is located in the passenger footwell area on a UK car, not sure on a left hooker. You have to remove the front kick panel then the trim under the glove box & pull back the carpet. Google W205 Voltage Converter plenty of info.

Thanks for that, it'll save me taking all her crap out of the trunk, the trunk lining, etc. all to find there's not a battery there after all!

I'm going to send her to the stealership she bought the car from to see if they'll cover it under warranty, if not I will order one then go hunting. Armed with the replacement it's always easier to find the part that needs replacing.

There has been a couple of "campaigns" here in the US for no charge replacement to upgraded/new part... worth a shot with your UK dealer..
