CPO 2016 C450

Hi Guys,

First time car buyer here and was wondering if I could get some advice.

My wife and I are looking to buy a CPO 2016 C450 with about 32k miles on it. The dealership is asking almost $37k. The car has the Premium Package, Lighting Package, Multimedia package, pano sunroof, and a clean carfax.

Just wondering what price we should haggle down to (we are thinking $35k) and if any of you have had any issues with your C450 we should be aware of.

Thanks!

Hey Jeff,

Good car. I have a 2016 c450 fully loaded with 13k miles on it. Itís fun to drive and I havenít had any problems with it at all. Only problem Iíve had is the Pirelli run flat ties. Gone through 6 of them from nails and wear.

I feel $35k a good price if you can get it for that. I recently considered upgrading to a c63 and probably still am. The dealership offered me $38k on trade in.

The run-flat tires are the worst. They are very loud, the ride is hard and as Phenom mentioned they puncture easily.

I have a 1999 C280 with over 220K miles and I believe I have had 3 -4 flat tires due to nail during almost 20 years I have the car. I bought a 2015 C300 with run-flat tires. In one year of use with only 8K miles, I had three flats from nails.

The RUN-FLAT is the biggest marketing hoax. If you get a nail in the tire, yes, you may be able to drive 20-30 miles to your home to your favorite tire shop. But then they will tell you, that the tire cannot be repaired. You have to buy a new tire for $200+. You are better off with non run-flat tires and call a tow truck if you get a flat. Or carry a air car or air pump.

Note to all Newbies: As the previous post suggested, Please put more details in your profile. Especially the year and model of your car and your location. On this forum, you will find many subscribers who will help you with information specific to your location, such as mechanics and auto shops.

Do yourself a favor and check edmunds.com for the value of that MB - then at least you have a reasonable 3rd party value to compare..

In my experience Edmunds is way off from the current market prices and gives a wide range of value which is not very useful. I just looked at Edmunds for 2015 C300 and it gives a range of $17K- $58K. More accurate guage is to look at CraigsList and see what others are asking for similar cars. This is a better reflection of the prices in your area.
