parking brake warning

Hi, I turned on the car today, twice and each time, I got a red parking brake warning in the onboard computer display. It simply said Parking brake, see owner's manual. Both the red and the yellow parking brake symbol were light up. I manually release the parking brake, like I always do, and everything went away.

I looked up the manual, and there nothing about this message, only a beeping brake warning...
I read somewhere else that it could be the sensor that is too sensitive? The car did not moved for about a week prior to this issue.

Anybody got this?

I used to get this every once in a while on my CLK. Discovered that there were times when I'd hit the parking brake with my foot just enough to trigger the warning. Must be a sensor that seemed a bit touchy to me but learned to live with it and to pay more attention to how I got into the car.

Just my $.02 worth.

Maybe your car is different than mine, but my foot doesn't reach high enough up on the dash to hit the parking brake!

That was on my CLK. I don't see anything telling me what you are driving.

parkingbrake

I figured out what was the issue. The switch remains slightly engaged sometimes. This is causing the warning light. Since I figured this out, I make sure the switch retracts back to the normal resting position and everything is fine. I just noticed that it does not retract fully from time to time.
