They must've added it for 2018. Can't find it under 'Settings' on my 2016. You'd think it would be a software upgrade for all W205's

You're my hero.

I sent a note to the seller asking if stop/start remains disabled even if you change driving modes (ex from default 'Comfort' to 'Sport')

Select driving modes via your main screen using the (vehicle) button on the centre console.
Then select (individual)
Set up your most commonly used driving mode and turn off the stop start at the same time. Then select individual for your main mode of driving. It will come up as an I* in the driving mode box on the dash.

Vladimir's module is righteous - he's a bright and capable guy - message him your VIN# thru the eBay listing and ask him what features he can program for you.

On his ECO module - if you set ECO to off then you turn off your MB - next time you start your MB ECO stays off thru all profiles - if set ECO on then turn off your MB - the ECO is ON thru all profiles - smart and EZ.

Follow his install instruction OBD module plugs for changing your programming - once programming is changed module comes out - unless you want to reprogram back to stock/default - once used - works ONLY for the MB you have paired it with...

From everything I've read up to now, there is no way to permanently disable this feature. It's M-B's way of improving mileage statistics, and even the dealers won't agree to disable it.

I considered not buying my 2014 212 when I learned of the feature, but fortunately I didn't let that influence the ultimate decision. Instead, each time I get behind the wheel, I just start the engine, fasten the seat belt, switch off the ECO button, and I'm on my way. No stopping/starting at every red light, stop signs while you wait for traffic to clear, stop-and-go traffic, etc.

Not the solution you're looking for perhaps, but it works for me, and I don't have to worry about whether the frequent stopping/starting of the engine might be harmful over the long term.

This is the solution that should work for everybody. And it works for me when I was one of the first to complain about this start/stop crap.

Yeah, and I think there's also an ODB module to enable Apple Carplay on 2018's.

5 minute job, go to main battery under bonnet/hood and remove cover, attached to the negative (black) battery terminal you will see a box with 2 small wires, this is the negative rail battery sensor, disconnect it, that`s it. Your alternator will now revert from smart to standard, it will charge from 13.8 to 14.2 volts and fully charge your battery not just 80% as before. There is no EML, stop start is still there but never goes green, everything works as normal other than brake hold which you no longer have. With stop start no longer working you can replace main battery with any sealed lead acid battery. This hack is no good if you have cylinder deactivation as you will loose this along with brake hold, if you want to go back to standard just plug sensor back in, enjoy.
