Hi folks - newby from down-under. I've still got until JAN to wait for my car... . Would love to read some first impressions of those who've taken ownership - and see some pics

I just picked up my C300 in Iridium Silver with the black MB-Tex interior and Burl Walnut trim. It has the Premium and Multimedia packages, 18" 5 spoke wheels, and BLIS. These are pictures of the car when it first got into the dealer's lot.

I only have a couple of hundred miles on the car so far, but initial impressions have been very positive. My last few cars have been Audi's, BMW's, and a Volvo S60, so I am used to good European quality cars. The C300 is well put together, feels tight and is quiet, handles well yet has enough suspension compliance to be comfortable over rough surfaces, has an excellent climate control system, and a truly exceptional audio system in the Burmester.

The Comand interface does take some getting used to, and there is a learning curve since everything has to be controlled through that interface. I've got it pretty much mastered already, but simple things like storing radio presets are not as direct as just pressing a single button.

The only two things I've found odd so far are the fact that the passenger's side seat headrest is only manually adjustable, and the power switch on the door is a dummy unless you have the optional full memory package. The other thing is that the multifunction display can not show the odometer if you have your speed shown. It's one or the other, and you have to scroll to see the odometer.

Overall, the car is impressive ... offering advanced electronics, competent handling with a comfortable ride, excellent build quality, comfortable seating, good visibility, a beautiful interior design, and a fantastic sound system. If the car turns out to have a good reliability record, and it's too early to know that, this should quickly become a huge success for MB.

Well, DBOC, it doesn't look like there's too much activity here. Either that, or nobody has a car or knows how to use a camera.

This W205 forum seems totally dead.

Another question, if we end up with a January/Feb delivery, will it be plated 2015? you would hope so wouldn't you? I had a fair bit of issues with the build date on my BMW F30 back in 2012.. was a bit annoying
What do you think?

Hi from Sydney, I decided to pick mine from existing Dealer Stock. I picked it up on Sep 30 - a C250 in Tenorite Grey, Vision and Comand Packs. We wanted a beige interior. I signed on Sunday and took delivery on Tuesday. I wanted the comfort and the exclusive packs, but once I saw it was a German made car and the dealer came to the party on price, I got over my need for the fancy dash top and memory seats.

It replaces a 2011 facelift w204 c250. What a revelation! It drives beautifully, very smooth and quiet. I can't believe its running 19 inch wheels on the standard suspension.

Has anyone worked out how to get into the Engineering menu on Comand NTG5.0 and why has MB decided to mix 225/40r19 with 24/35r19 tyres when the rear tyres end up with a smaller rolling circumference?

Really love those wheels, thinking of optioning them onto my AMG Line when I order this week as opposed to the standard AMG ones..
