2012 C-63 engine oil notice

recently purchased a 2012 C63 and have put maybe 5K on it since taking ownership. coming into work tis morning, received an in dash warning asking me to check oil level at next fill-up! Is there an issue here that I should be aware of? just don't seem normal !

Welcome.
Scroll down the forum index to your chassis: W204 C63 AMG. I copied your thread there.
There is also a non AMG W204 forum.
Please click 'User CP' on the top toolbar to complete your profile with car mod and location.
Daimler Benz frequently makes same chassis but differently equipped cars for different parts of the world, so on an international forum, location can be important to get the correct advice.
Reading the stickies on top helps to navigate.
Cheers

Welcome to the forums. Your car is telling you to check the oil level because you are either burning through it or it is leaking. Check the PCV at the back of the head, the valve cover gaskets, the seals near the cam sensors, and the drain plug. I have a PCV kit available on my website if needed. Treat the low oil message seriously and consider checking your oil level more often.

I read a spec somewhere about oil consumption but cannot recall where.
It will use some so check it say 1500 km after a change and then randomly so you can see when it needs a top up and go from there.
