Tyres

Hi, we bought an C250 CDI coupe 2013 one year ago, we have worn out 2 sets off rear tyres 255/35x18 first set were Pirelli P zeros and now the second set has gone in 6 months they were Hankooks, tyre place told us these tyres would last 35000 km, Diesel motors told us this was normal and within Mercedes specifications. Needless to say we are not happy we are 73 and 64 years old and do drive within limits. Can anyone recommend a tyre that has a longer tyre life.

Have you checked alignment?

My C300 4Matic is on Michelins and I have driven 20k and still going...

Agree

Get a four wheel alignment done,,,then buy either Michelin pilot sport 4 or Continental Contisport 5.

I second Michelin Pilot Sport. I had them on my W203 coupe and I replaced the dreadful Contis on my C300 4Matic with them and the difference is quite noticeable.

You need to go to a specialist tyre agent to get the proper computerized four wheel alignment done.
Your local Midas doesn't cut the mustard.
My Alignment agent is the local Continental dealer - $40.00 for a 4 wheel alignment. They give you a coloured printout of the procedure.

I have Continental contact sport 5s on my W204. After 20,000 k's the fronts are worn out. Rears are fine.
The front control arms were worn.
The new Conti's went on at 38,000k's. I now have 60,000K's up.
Control arm rubbers can go in as little as 28,000K's

You don't mention how many K's are on the car. There are rubbers on the back that can wear.

I have Michelin Pilot sports on my E class. New Michelins will be going onto the C Class.

And now for bad news. GLC right hand drive car tyres are known to only last 20,000 K's.

Agree on getting an 4 wheel alignment and Michelin pilot sport 4’s
Have always had Conti’s on all our benz’s but have gone over to Michelin’s. Pirelli P zeros are a softer compound tyre , great for handling but bad for wear.
Have the tyres worn evenly or chewed out a corner or something?
