Potential C55 Purchase - some concerns

Hi Everyone

I found a very nice, low mileage (35,000miles) 2005 C55 AMG for sale at a local, authorized Porsche dealer.

I showed interested and got the carproof / carfax report (I am in Canada). The report is perfect. I have also googled the VIN number and looked up the emissions test history etc. It all looks good.

Unfortunately they sold the car. But a week later the sales rep called me back and said the car was available again because the buyer couldn't get financing. So I arranged to go up on Saturday.

Unfortunately they sold the car.... But a week later the sales rep called me back again and said the purchaser's wife didn't approve. So I arranged to go up on a Saturday again.

Unfortunately.... they sold the car. BUT... about 3 weeks later (this week), I had a call that the car was available again because the buyer couldn't get financing.

Now I am just suspicious. Does anybody have any advice? I will bring a mechanic with me when I go, but I am concerned that there is something wrong with the car. How would a dealer let 3 people take it away with securing the funds first?

Thanks
Oliver

That's a very good question, and if it were me I'd do a lot of research on this vehicle before a purchase. I'd also secure an independent pre-purchase inspection by a qualified technician in the area. Something smells, those dealers usually do pretty good due diligence on buyers (including credit history checks) before handing over the keys to these cars.

First all, I would ask these jerks to send you something in writing that they would hold the car for you or else they would reimburse you your expense or they can ,,,,,,,,,
