All,

I took the vehicle in and have them replace spark plugs and inspect/replace the transmission electrical connector. The service rep indicates there are some oil in but not a lot, just some. The connector was replaced.

Going to keep an eye and see if this resolves the problem for good.

Thanks,
Martin

N0alpha,

Thanks for the suggestion. Just did spark plug change and replace transmission electrical connector and going to see if that resolves the issue. The situation I run into did not result in a CEL and make it somewhat elusive to track down.

Given some of the parts replaced my Mercedes as part of the leaky CAM Shaft Solenoid TSB and other changes since, I can see what you suggested would be something I need to think about if the problem comes back. I think the vehicle still has original fuel pump and fuel filter, I believe.

Thanks,
Martin

Hello All,

Just a quick update. Delay/Hesitation when accelerating happened again. Coincidentally, the temperature has been lower the past two days if that has something to do with it. In each case, it appears the trigger point is the vehicle decelerating to a low speed (maybe around 20 MPH) followed by accelrrating.

It would field like when pressing on the throttle pedal, the initially pressed down result in no acceleration. When press deeper, the vehicle would respond and provide the acceleration. Since the throttle pedal is pressed deeper already by then, the vehicle would feel like a surge.

On this problem, I have the following done:
Transmission service
Spark plug change
Transmission electrical connector replaced

Prior to that, MB replaced ECU, CAM Shaft Solenoid, O2 sensors, MAPF sensor, Harness connecting them due to a TSB related with leaky CAM shaft solenoid.

This problem existed before all these fixes but it appears this elusive problem is still there.

Thanks,
Martin

Forgot to mention, when this Delay/Hesitation when accelerating happened, I have no DTC code. There is no sign that can discern (like a noise or jerk) that I can sense when this is triggered.

Thanks,
Martin

With this additional info I continue to believe your fuel pump or fuel filter is the cause.

Before doing anything expensive, take a look at this video and try it out first. My guess is the valve is sticking and the Supercharger isn't getting the air it needs.

You have nothing to lose.
