Brake upgrade c230 coupe

So I purchased AMG 4 piston brakes to upgrade from my oem 1 piston? Brakes in the front. My question is this will my regular 16 inch wheels fit? Or do I need upgrade those as well?

You will need to upgrade to 17" for sure, the whole disc/caliper (330mm discs, sport pack, or 340-343mm c32 amg discs) assembly needs 17" rims minimum.

I'll just leave this right here.

No damage to anything. The w211 E500 312mm calipers I used are identical to the 330 4 pots from the c230 except for the 9mm shorter mounting ears. I went with the smaller 312mm 4 pots because I was told the 330mm 4 pots wouldn't fit inside 16" wheels. In hindsight I realize that I could've used the w203 330mm brakes because there's more than 10mm clearance between the caliper and the wheel. Oh well I'm very happy with these brakes. The brake pedal is much more responsive than the sliding caliper both on and off the pedal. It's hard to describe.

1) For me your link doesn't open. It does not open.
2) He is talking about c32 amg calipers (the same w203 4 pot sport pack calipers/ there are 2 pot w203 sport pack calipers also... on the facelift) & from my experience & my friends experience the 4 pots w203 original calipers do not work with Mercedes 16" inch rims.
3) you are talking about a upgrade with w211 non amg 4 pots that come by factory with 16" inch rims... (i know because i owned a nonfacelift w211 320cdi with 4 pots brembo & 312mm discs) & also the v6 or l6 diesel w220 with 4 pots has the same 4 pots with 312 mm discs. Let's not mistake apples with pears. He has bought W203 AMG 4 pot brembo calipers wich need 330 mm discs minimum & do not work for sure with 16" rims without mods.

If you you can put 16" inch rims with this brake setup & no mods... tell me how.

The link works fine. What I told him is that 330mm w203 brakes fit inside stock 16" wheels WITH a 10mm hubcentric spacer. The only reason I used 312mm w211 E500 4 piston brakes on my car is because I was told 330mm w203 brakes wouldn't fit inside 16" wheels. That advice was wrong. As you can see from pic 4 in my link, there's more than 10mm clearance between the 312mm 4 piston caliper and the inner diameter of the 16" wheel.

The W220 was sold in the US with either 312mm or 330mm brakes inside 16" wheels depending on the model year.

Sorry, I don't know which brake caliper is in your picture. MB (brembo) made the same brake caliper with different length mounting ears to clear 312mm, 330mm 345mm rotors.

I wish not to start a "flame" discussion with you. I logged in from a laptop & could acces your link. Ok. Great job you did with your brake upgrade... but i stand with my opinion. With no mods (& a spacer in my opinion passes as a mod) you can't fit 16" inch rims on w203 & further more w203 sport pack 4 pot Brembo calipers & C32 AMG 4 pot Brembo calipers are the same except the paint (sport pack are grey mate with white Mercedes-Benz writing, AMG ones are silver with black AMG logo) the real difference is in brake discs... sport pack 330 mm, AMG 345 mm... w203 & both variants do not fit under 16" inch rims with oem rims & no mods.
p.s.: in the picture i posted is a w203 C32 AMG for U.S. with stock 4 pot AMG Brembo caliper, 345 mm brake disc & 17" inch original AMG rim... & i assure you no 16" inch original rim without any mods will fit... thus neither the sport pack brakes will not be cleared by a 16" inch original rim without any mods.

The 312mm brakes need the 10mm spacer as much as the 330mm brakes. With the 10mm hubcentric spacer (that's not much of a modification) you can fit either 312mm or 330mm 4 piston brakes inside 16" wheels. I think knowing that option would be useful to some people. I would've gone for 330mm brakes had I known they fit. I don't think we disagree about the facts, rather the definition of some words.

If for whatever reason anyone is still considering the 312mm 4 piston calipers from the w211, don't try to use the w211 rotors, they won't fit. The w211 rotor hat is 18mm taller and the rotor won't clear dust shields at the back. You must use the w202 c36 316mm rotor with this caliper because it has the correct hat height. C36 front rotors are dirt cheap and plentiful in the US because brembo screwed up it's parts catalog about 15 years ago. German made TRW rotors were $9 a pop.

By far the easiest brake swap for 16" wheels is 330mm w203 brakes (2 or 4 piston) with minimum 10mm hubcentric front wheel spacers.
