Ignition coil repair procedure. I did.

Problem: cracked plastic, moisture gets in cracks.
Cleaned with brake cleaner
Blew with compressed air
Heated coil to about 250F with heat gun, I checked temperature with infrared thermometer.
Used RTV to cover all cracks. Do use copper RTV
I had one bad coil (code P0302) but I fixed 2 coils, #1 had cracks too.
Runs perfect!
I will probably do the same to other 4 coils.

In the future I would not use brake cleaner on any plastic/ electronics. But I guess trying to save a coil it will not really matter.

As long as the glue holds up -- it should work.

When you think of the temp swings the coils go though -- especially in very cold weather -- it surprising they don't fail more often.

Thankfully they are not to expensive.
