Siren Problem

Last night the siren on my 2003 C320 went off for no reason. When I looked outside and looked at the car the siren was blaring but the lights were not flashing. The siren stopped after about a minute. It did the same thing klater in the night and in the morning. I unlocked the car and apperently it did it again an hour ago. Does anyone have any ideas what the problem might be? Thanks for you input.

We usually replace the siren itself. It seems to happen in the SL's and SLK's as well. Its funny we have some that won't turn off after we take them out .

Yeah, that's a weird one. We just had a false alarm trigger post the other day that turned out to be a bad battery, so it's worth having your battery load tested as well.

I just had the same issue with my C320 last week. It turns out that it was due to a bad battery. Apparently, once your battery goes bad and your car sits for a few hours, the alarm battery will go off. Not sure why, but it appears that it gets its power recharge from the car battery. So have your battery recharge or purchase a new one and that should take care of it.

The alarm is triggered by low/no voltage. I figured that out one day that I had to unhook the battery when my doors were locked...

Great information guys as this has happened on my 06 C320. Damn thing was chirping even though I disconnected the battery, removed it for testing. I was shocked to hear a battery operated device going off. I thought it was some sort of a mechanical injector, air locked, or some sort of a perpetual motion device thingy. Geez how us EE's think, lmao.
