OBD

Hi guys..
My w202 has 38 pin obd only, no obd2 connector so i am trying to connect elm327 blutooth to the 38 pin using the cable converter from 38 to 16 pin but its not working ... I attached the picture explaining how to connect the pins ...
Pins number 10,13,15,24,28 are not available in the 38 pin in my car .... Pins available are 1,2,3,4,6,16,17,30
Did anyone tried this before ??? Pls explain to me why it wont work ......

Not all 38 pin connectors are created equally. Most are garbage - especially the chinese-made ones.
As well, not all scanners are compatible with a proper 38pin connector.

Why not invest in a better scanner? Since you have no obd2 port, this particular device seems useless, imo. The only selling feature of these devices is small, convenient to plug-in (dont leave it in, otherwise they drain your battery dead) and look pretty. And only allows you to read codes, nothing more.

Yeah i know these Bluetooth obd only read codes and does not do a deep scan like pro. Scanners but the idea is i am adding a screen in my car so its a nice feature to add to the android screen and the battery is not a problem i can fix the battery drain by connecting the power to obd bluetooth externally so when turning off the car the obd will turn off ... My only problem is making the obd read the ECU .....☹️

imo, I think your wasting your time looking for a solution to get a cheap bluetooth obd2 device to mate to a cheap generic 38pin adapter.
There are some things that just are not justified.
I dont see how you are saving any time and $$ looking for a fix - your way or the right way..
.
But hey, it's your time and money. Do what you will, it's your w202.

GL.
