Smile Headlight female socket burned, caused low beam not to work on my !91 2.6.

First picture is my old socket (white). Second picture is a new one (blue). The PO had already replaced the one in the picture. Part number is Dorman 85811 from Advance Auto Parts for less than $5.00. The wire on the new part seems smaller than the old one but works OK so far. No idea what MB replacement cost would be.

Right you are. I almost wished I couldn't repair and would be forced to get them but the euro's are behind in a long line of expensive repairs that include water pump and stuff along the way as well as differential and carrier bearing.
