Clutch slave cylinder leaking into clutch/tranny
I'm new here. I have a 1988 190E 2.3-8v 5 speed as a winter beater. Last night when I went to move the car the clutch pedal just sprung to the floor when i touched it. Lost hydraulic pressure.
I towed it to a buddy's shop and we took a look. We couldn't find any of the lines to be leaking, but there was a small leak from the transmission/clutch case out of a little hole. We put in more fluid and pumped the clutch pedal until it regained pressure. Car drives now...
QUESTION is, is it ok to drive the car a day or 2 like this, keeping the brake fluid topped up? When I was ordering a new slave cylinder the guy told me not to drive the car if it's leaking into the clutch as this will damage the clutch. Is this true?
