Replacement key fob

I need a new key fob for my 2015 ML250.
I have been told the key fob is a FBS4, can these be purchased from someone besides a Merc dealer and is there software available that will allow you to program the fob

Key fobs are dealer only and youíll need identification and ownership details of your car to get it. Some may say thatís a pain in the ass but itís the way it should be for our security.

It's gonna be expensive....Just bought one today for my new 2015 ML350. Two, three days for it to arrive, and then they must program. Key is about 450.00 and programing about 100.00.

Ain't cheap but this new (to me) w166 only had one key and , unlike my 99 ML430..you can not just use the blade to crank. The blade will get you in the driver side door, but that's IT !!

Just curious: does your ML350 have Keyless GO?

"Engineered like no other car in the world." That's both a bug and a feature.

Yes, it does have Keyless Go, but it is taking some time to get use to its features !!

So this ML is sixteen years newer than my original 1999 ML430, but it truly has some amazing features that is going to take a while to get use to !

Does some fobs require programming and others not? The last three I bought were "turn key"

Just bought a 4th one today for my 2003 W210 wagon for only $215 which included 9.25% sales tax.

They should be pre programmed from the dealer. Should work straight away.

OK...picked up the key today. It was ordered a few days ago and RBM Mercedes called yesterday and said it had arrived. Have to go through the service department to schedule programming and that was taken care of yesterday also. Took about an hour but it's all good, Key is safely tucked away in my office ! Hopefully I will never have the occasion to use it, but at least I will never be stranded if I misplace or lose it !
