12 volt switch power

Anyone has a good wiring diagram or wire that can be tap to connect detector and dashcam. Looking for a 12v switch power wire under passenger side dash that can be tap. Fuse on the side are all "on" which can't be use for this purpose.

Also, try to avoid running wire from rear seat fuse box to front if all possible.

I'm new to W166. Recently acquire a 2014 ML550 CPO. Had been a w163 owner for over 15 years...

Thanks.

12 volt switch power

I fitted a dash cam last weekend and ran the wire down the a pillar ( screw behind the SRS cap). Then ran it back to the rear 12v outlet in the console. Saves pulling the dash apart and you know thatís what itís for. I just piggy backed off the back of the socket.
How you enjoying the new ride?
Be sure the wires will not be interrupted by the airbag deployment.

news ride is very good, perform well, lots of power, comfortable and good handling. It's so quiet, not even the engine noise. Electrical assisted steering is light, will take sometime to get use to....

Thanks.

I reckon it took me a good week to get use to it after hopping out of the 163

What took me the most time to get used to was the swapped turn signal and cruise control stalks. I can see why they did it - it's a lot closer to what everyone else does now - but it still took some adjusting.

The light steering I'm not entirely sure I like, but it's not terrible. Makes for a bigger difference when I get in the 560SL, though.

"Engineered like no other car in the world." That's both a bug and a feature.

Done with detector and dashcam installation. Had to run power wire from fuse box under rear seat. Run wire along passenger side door/skirt trim. All wires terminated at front passenger side enclosure below fuse box. Equipment turn on and arm once key is in on position.

Passenger side fuse are always on and over head console... interesting. Don’t touch unless diagram is available. I unplug one of the connector. Got all kinds of alarms on dashboard.

I also looked up in the overhead console and thatís it. I didnít want to touch any of that up there. Thatís why I went back to the rear 12v outlet. I think a lot of electrical in these cars probably only uses 5v.
