Nice dealer experience today

Took the ML500 Into the dealer today to get them to check on my Distronic plus. It beeps like it thinks Iím gonna crash occasionally when I go under an overpass. Doesnít brake or anything else just beeps frantically and flashes the red triangle . I also asked them to check if there is any software upgrades for the car. I was quoted a minimum of $220 for a diagnostic check. Everything checked out perfectly and they upgraded the software for me in the ECU. The red dots around the speedo work properly now with the cruise on. Which is good because you know what itís set at easier. They havenít worked since Iíve had the car.
My snap on scanner told me the left hand front radar had interference from an outside transmitter.
They could not find fault with distronic at all. So Iím thinking it must get a bad radar reflection off the bridge overpass or something.
Berwick Mercedes in Melbourne did it all for free and washed and vacuumed the car. So I was pretty happy with the service from them, it was a nice surprise considering I didnít buy the car or have never got it serviced there. I have spent a shitload in the spare parts department over the years though.
Just thought Iíd share a good dealer story instead of all bad.

I've taken my ML250 to the dealer twice now. The first trip was to get the nav database updated. They checked it over and found a few things, but didn't pressure me into doing any of them. I did wind up getting tires and a full alignment because the car plainly needed it. They weren't able to do the database update that day due to not having anyone with the right access in the parts department, so hen I took it back a couple of weeks later, they gave me the labor for the nav update for free, just charging me for the part itself. That cut the cost in half.

Overall, I'm happy with these folks. I've got another visit planned for two Saturdays from now to do a transmission and differential/transfer case service.

"Engineered like no other car in the world." That's both a bug and a feature.

Distronic is known to perform poorly in tunnels and in presence of smoke. Here is a video of a test in smoke conditions. I could not find the video of the four car s class pile up in the tunnel:
