New member- Just traded W164 for W166

Hi everyone!

I traded my 2008 W164 ML320 Airmatic for a 2012 W166 ML350 Bluetec 4matic with 134000km on the clock.
Only had the pleasure to drive this for 1.5 days as I had to return to Angola for work.

Car is going back to dealer to sort out the Parktronic not working, 2X rims are scratched and a scratch behind the passengers seat.

I am not to sure about the KUMHO tyres it has on at the moment and will probably change it to Continental UHP.
I replaced the command in the W164 with a Android system and really enjoyed it. Will try to do the same here.
Looking at installing a integrated Dashcam as well.

Still have the roof-bars or as we call it roof-racks of the W164, but I donīt think it will fit.
I used to be an avid BMW fan untill I bought my first MB, now I am the traitor in the family.

Looking forward to learn a lot on this forum.

Greetings from deeper, darker, Africa

I did the same, though in my case I went to a 2015 ML250 Bluetec. I decided I Wanted to get away from the OM642's black death issues.

I'm not familiar with the 2012's version of COMAND. The newer NTG4.5 system is too tightly integrated to be easily replaced. I too had an Android in my 2008, but eventually pulled it out because it got too slow to use well.

Good luck with your purchase!

"Engineered like no other car in the world." That's both a bug and a feature.

Thank you.

Car is back from the dealership I bought it from.
Parktronic fixed,
Rims fixed,
Small scratch on back of seat to be..

Booked at MB Stellenbosch for proper look through and oil service (for peace of mind) on 13 June.
So far so good.
Canīt wait to drive her again in a few months (30 August only)
Will order the Android unit and integrated dash cam in the mean time.
