Hello & Rattles / Noises from the dash right-side

First of all, HELLO to everybody!!! I'm new here..., ...well, not really, since I'm reading the forum since I took the decision to buy a ML one month ago. For this I would like also to thank you for the VERY useful info I found here. [;)]

Anyway, I've read some posts talking about rattles/noises "apparently" coming from the right side of the dash, and their "temperature" connection. After some brainstorm I found that the rattles are actually related to the black plastic which surround the wipers OUTSIDE!!![:0]
This plastic touch the windshield via a small rubber which it is not in "contact" for all the width of the windshield, in fact, the two edges are at about 1 millimeter from the glass and at each small vibration... [V]

...so, here the question(s):
- Am I the only one who experienced this?
- Does somebody know how to fix it? I tried to put some adhesive rubber between windshield/plastic but it only increase the noise (this is how I found the "bug").[^]
- Any suggestion?

By thanking in advance, please, be patient with my "broken" english...
[:I]

Don't have the issue, but WELCOME nonetheless. Congratulations

...on your ML400CDI, I would love to have the 400CDI here!

Where in Italy do you live? I make trips to Como / Milan / Bergamo every year.

I feel so miserable without you; its almost like having you here.

Concerning the issue, I'm crossing all my fingers but seem that, after few kilometers, the rubber I placed, is going to adjust itself and, now, no more rattles [8D]

Like your signature, but should you add "All roads lead to Roma?"

If I had to move back to Europe, It'd be in your neck of the woods! BTW, Coleoni has nothing on me!

...you know,...it is an old said..., at present it has no more value, today:
- All roads lead into the traffic!
- All roads lead into the "work in progress!"
- All roads lead into the "gas station!" (ML related)

Phenomenal 4 liter V8 common rail diesel. Torque aplenty (more than my ML500)

560Nm for the 400 vs 440 for the 500.

In Europe, also available on the E, have driven it and loved it!

The 6 cyl. E320CDI will hit our shores sometime next year.

I feel so miserable without you; its almost like having you here.

TCP,

I wish I had known that, I have been driving diesels for 10 years and really like them. I would have loved to have that V8 version in an ML.

Oh well, I am enjoying the quickness of my ML350 so I can't complain. [:)]

Yeah..., that's correct [^] ...and more: the 560 Nm are available @ 1700 - 2600 Rpm, it...

Yeah..., that's correct [^]

...and more: the 560 Nm are available @ 1700 - 2600 Rpm, it's amazing. My previous car was a BMW M3 3200cc. 321 Hp SMG (quite different driving style uh [:D]), which I don't miss at all in terms of power "feeling".

Now I can say that I learnt the lesson, based on my driving style, better consider the TORQUE Vs. the POWER. [8D]

Concerning the rattles (subject of this post), now I can say BROBLEM SOLVED!!![;)] So, for future reference which somebody may need, my advice is:
if you ear a rattle that seem coming from the dash / windshield area, check it from outside first, even if the sound is so loud that you would bet it's inside!!!
