ATA status indicator(E33)

Hello,

When E33 does not flash in position 2, it means the transmitter key is not recognised.

What would be the possible culprit/s?

43sqd, Witek, DrX, Art, Matt can you please share your knowledge on this.

Does in start? Starts and dies after about a second?

Witek,

Car starts fine.

The only problem is inability to sync remote key fob.

If it flashes at least once when you turn to position 1, then stops flashing (and remains off) when you turn to position 2, then you get engine start with position 3, then that is normal function.

If you leave it in position 1, flash will repeat at 2 second intervals.

Transponder coil reads RFID chip at the base of the key. That is used for immobilizer.

Remote locking is separate function.

Witek,

Remote sync procedure says in position 2, E33 indicator should light up to recognise key.

If I recall clearly, the normal pattern of the E33 red led under normal circumstances is repeated per sec flash in position 1, steady lighting in position 2, no lighting in position 3 then delayed repeated flash if car is locked with remote.

Correct me where I missed it.

I have never examined what happens in position 1. It's just not a sexy position.

But just for sake of general knowledge I have observed ATA LED. It flashes every few seconds.
WE47B1ME and dramos like this.

As Witek said remote function has nothing to do with E33.
E33 indicates that the car is recognizing the chip (start function).
Did you change your batteries? Try getting new proper brand batteries & sync

Glad you're here Art.

I got very good new batteries but no luck with sync in both remote keys.
