BASS/ESP issues New info RECALL 2000 merc.

Off & on I have had BASS light or BASS ESP light come on.

Replaces the Break light relay switch-
ABS motor brushes the
Lights went off for a week but BASS
came back on again with no brake lights

Situation turned critical on way home. I used Cruze control and after about 10 min my car started speeding up to about 70mph
I couldnít stop it. I have driven in bad snow conditions & probably what saved me. I finally slammed on brakes & kept jamming cruise control arm back-and-forth
And car finally stopped just short of intersection.

Then a new thing started happening ... car would just stop in traffic.
Took me 3 separate tries to get car home. Seems as car or bass issue heated?
or ran thatís when car would just stop.

I have been looking for help in my area with no luck.

Last night I went back to searching google and found the following -my car
(Mercedes 2000 ML320 ) information.

Please read and your advice: MY CAR IS DANGEROUS and NOT drivable to
Benz store over mim 50 miles away.

In a recall is it their responsibility to tow my car to them. I donít dare drive it to grocery store let alone on highway to anywhere

Every thing reported by others has happened to me..... everything.

It is the brake light switch recall. It is still active.

I am not sure what their obligation is to tow it.

@hotcitykitty @wicked1

You have first reported this issue in 2014 under different user name.

Im a little lost here. You say you replaced your stop light switch already but now your saying that you want it replaced under warranty and you want your vehicle towed to have it done? Just don't use your cruise control during the drive and drive it to the dealer. It's not going to accelerate itself because of a bad switch. It was accelerating because you had cruise on and there was no signal telling it to cut the cruise when you taped the brake.
I'm still confused from your post, but you said something about the car stopping itself when driving. Can't see that as being an issue from the brake switch. You need to invest in a scanner that can read all these codes and tell us what's actually happening.

BASS light indicates has brake issues... And apparently Cruise Control. I only found out this 5 days ago
After every single attempt to fix BASS light malfunction I had the horrifying experience of my car not responding to braking while using CC. WHO KNEW ... not BenzWorld blog
The car spreed up all on its own when I tried to brake. 5 blocks at 80 mph
NOTHING
I was just wondering why on earth this issue had not been on file within this forum 3/5 yrs ago when I first started having the problem.

Only after MY CARís recent attempt at murdering me & other ppl that I googled every conceivable idea around the bass light issue and came up with the recall information.
I simply posted info bc ITS A MATTER OF LIFE & DEATH

I posted the recall notice because thought ppl should know... all my BASS issues have boiled down to all comments & problems made by other benz owners ( link provided)

I got incredibly lucky it was 3:30 AM & traffic was very low. Had this happened day time on that street/HWY ppl would have died.

BAS not Bass
Bass is loud music in Artís 55 and fresh water fish that taste a bit muddy.

BAS stands for Brake Assist System. It provides additional braking power in case of emergency situations. ESP stands for Electronic Stability Program. It helps as you drive by braking individual wheels or reduce engine torque output.

Your situation could of been prevented by turning off the cruise control at the stalk. Sounds like you may of panicked a little which is completely normal in that situation. Youíve probably tried braking to find it slowed a little but with lack of vacuum under acceleration the brakes wouldnít of felt as good as normal, then once you took your foot off the brake for a second it would of gone back into cruise control and accelerated. Your car is not possessed and trying to kill you. Just needs a brake light switch.

Hello, please try to have some patience here. Yes I have BASS ESP issues in 2014/15
And fix the problem. Now 2019 same repair, but BASS LIGHT is only light on.
new issues have occurred with this light on now.
.
Car just stops ( Engine ) C control going nuts ~hard start~ won’t start up after engine
dying on road. I of course do NOT Engage cruise control while bass engage
while Bass issue light is on.

up that make it difficult to just run to a MB dealership 3 hr away. Car dies after runs
for a bit . 5 -15 minutes.

All I was asking (recently) Has anyone had these issues w/BASS LIGHT ON. Finding the comments
about Bass recall info, see above jpeg many ppl had these very issues but no place to discuss
the Bass light issues. MB says they are not connected. I don’t believe that. They minimized my speeding experience.
I thought I might fine more thoughts on stated crazy shit that’s happening in BW forum.
Car was running fine prior to latest light unresolved issue.

I realize NOW owning a Mercedes-Benz in a small town (compared to Vegas) is probably a
very bad idea but at the time it was the only decent running car I could find for the price.
Ppl tend to beat the hell out off cars here.
I’m not talking from ignorance, I sold Fords here for 3 yrs. most trade in were total crap unless
in the $8-$10 k area. I had $4500

Believe me there won’t be a second MB.
Absolutely unimpressed with Mercedes-Benz customer service

So, thank you for your help & comments

I think it means they have a bad crank sensor and BAS issue still. A little hard to interpret.
