Retrace your steps. Check the cracks in the sofa and your jacket pockets, the one hanging in your closet. Look under the car.

It has to be somewhere close to where you parked it.

What Dr X said, + kids (toddlers) or animals (shiny kitty play toy) could have grabbed it too.

Ask me how I know !

My solution: keys stay on caribiner, and either in ignition, in pocket or on high mounted hook in entry room.

Most USA dealers can order a Valet key for 45 usd.

I suspect you're perhaps overseas so your local dealer policy may vary.

Best wishes for locating them !

If you don't find it, you are up schit creek. Fobs are no longer available so it will be a valet 'Mickey Mouse' key you will have to buy.

+1 with cmitch. You must order two Mickey Mouse Keys, officially called Spare Key.

Understand that when you receive them, you will have to use the key to manually open the door, then the alarm will go off. Then insert the key in the ignition, turn it to position #2 and the alarm will go off.

Also know that you will no longer have anti-theft protection.

Somewhat related question:

If I have a flip key fob from another ML, can I get it coded to mine?

Proceed with caution. >>>

If it were that simple.... there wouldnt be the numerous threads asking where and how to get a fob replacement.

It is actually not that complicated. Using very specific equipment you retrieve key numbers, codes, tracks. Now you are in possession of propitiatory software/data.

In other countries it may fly with no problem. In US we have copyright laws and enforcement thereof. Small mom and pop locksmith shop will not risk battle with billions dollar company.

You can use the remote board and have it reprogrammed to your ML. It is theoretically possible to remove the transponder chip from the Mickey Mouse key and install it into a fob, but nobody has achieved that yet. Either that, or they haven’t published their how-to.
