Question Front suspension issue

Hello guys!

So, my mother has a w163 with 280.000 km, and its currently having some issues with the front suspension. For some reason, the car just sits way too low in the front, bounces a lot (shocks are 1 year old), and the tires start to squeel rather easily, wich makes me think that the fact that is so low to the ground is affecting the camber alignment, and thus not letting the hole surface of the tire make contact with ground. I know thew163 has torsion bars (is it the correct term?) instead of convesional helical springs, do they have to be replaced from time to time, do they loose strenght?? or is just some adjusment? Any help is welcome, thanks!

Alignment has nothing to do with ride height.

You can adjust the ride height via the torsion bars, but don't go crazy.

You may also wish to check the torsion bar bushings too, for failure, while your under there

Does it creak with slow stop, start driving. You will probably find your torsion bar bushing cracked.
Go to a macca’s or Burger King drive through you’ll hear it really well reflecting the sound of the wall.

E-gad's ...haven't heard that in years.....

Macca is a common nickname in some English speaking countries of Anglo-Saxon heritage (less commonly in Canada and the United States, where "Mac" is used) for somebody whose surname begins with the Gaelic prefix Mac or Mc (meaning "son of").
