2004 ML500 AC or Compressor issue

Hello,

Thanks in advance!

I got a 2004 ML500, absolutely love it. I am having an issue with the AC. It seems like multiple things could be going wrong. Not sure.

I took it to a Mercedes mechanic, he evacuated and recharged the system. Issue remained. He also attached a diagnose tool, couldn't see any code.

My vehicle I believe does not have a clutch on the compressor. Also it does not have a fuse for the A/C or the compressor. It has a fuse for the whole instrument controller on the passenger side kick fuse box. I checked it and it is good.

I did not hear a clicking sound on relay 26 when I turned the AC on. I checked the relay, it is good. So I read the voltage across terminals 30-87, when relay unplugged. I do not have a 12V sitting there like I do for the other relays. That seems like a problem to me. What could be the case?

Any other suggestions?
Thanks!

Whats the actual issue your having.
He must of had the compressor running to successfully charge the system.
Does your cooling fan run any quicker once the air is turned on and the engine is at temp.

I do not have cold air, it is warm. I do not feel any RPM change or load change on the vehicle when I turn the AC on.
He said he recharged the system. That's all I know.
What do you think of the Relay 26, not having 12V?
Which one is the cooling fan? If it is the one right behind the radiator, it did not run when I turned the AC on.
Thank you!

What is description on fuse box legend for relay K26?

Compressor has soft start. You will not feel load change. Radiator suction fan comes on only when needed.

After recharge what ware the pressures Hi/Lo? Did that jive with readout of life data from the scanner? Scanner will show compressor demand as percentage. What was it?

This! Because the refrigerant is metered internally in the compressor, it is possible to have a charged system but no cooling.

I'm having a similar issue with my 2002. I have to press the off/reset button and then cut it back on to get it running, sometimes twice. Try that.
