Currently only P0170.
A pending P0173 comes in after several days. After making a change, I clear the DTC's, maybe that's not the best way to go in this case.
Seems to me the P0170 started after replacing the Bank 1 ,#1 , O2 sensor... I ordered another one and will swap that out. If that doesn't address the issue I will have another spare I spoze.

4.9V and 11.6V at the MAF. Cleaned contacts while I was there.
Fuel pressure holds (ign off) for 30 mins solid.

Loking for next logical steps. I appreciate the knowlege share.

Where did you order your MAF sensor from? Source?
There's a LOT of fake MB parts turning up. I've been bitten myself from knock-off Chinese parts that do not perform. Advance Auto has been getting these fakes which is where my CPS came from. Compare the markings on your new MAF to the one you removed. Look for suspicious molding lines, erratic writing where 'Bosch' is, etc. If your MAF sensor is good, then it has to be a leak somewhere.

I think the entire problem here is you changed O2 Sensors in the belief that changing them would fix codes P0170 and 173.

If you still have the original O2 sensors, reinstall them and go from there.

Also tell us where you got them.

Sensor #1 bank 1 purchased from Parts Geek.

I'll swap it out with the original.

New one is on order from AutoParts Wharehouse (ordered it a couple days ago during "fishing" expedition.)

I'll try to capture the "new" O2 sensor data on my mighty i980 and compare with original.

As usual, Ich bedanke mich.

Swapped out the O2 sensor with orig.
Same codes P0170.
Removed the intake manifold using the info from this site (thank you very much!).
Found ughliness:

Cleaned up everything as best I could.Replaced throttle body gasket, intake manifold gaskets, injector o-rings, EGR gasket, ensured good vac hose connections and re-assembled.
I cycled the system (drove it from cold to warmed up) 5 times.
No MIL.
Passed California smog test!
Drove it 825 miles in 2 days (to and from racing in the desert) and got 26+ MPG as best average.

Musta had an intake leak under the manifold?

Now I have enough spare parts to do this job again...

Thank you all for the tremendous amount of information and support.

Great job. You found it all by yourself, as you went the extra step.

Thanks 43sqd but W/O you and the other contributors I never would have gotten there.

Happy motoring.
