Question Interior Lining / Panels

Are interior lining / panel wear covered under extended warranty
Wanted to get some experiences before asking the dealership
Paperwork does not specify whether or not they are covered
Driver side A pillar fabric is fraying off the window -glue must be getting dry
thanks folks!

You are entering the "Black Hole" of extended warranty. My warranty states that no "wear and tear" items are included (whatever that means) and I'm pretty sure that they will not cover the fabric. But it never hurts to try.

Our Touareg had a similar problem with the interior door pull. It was covered with some "SoftTouch" material, that began to peel (like a sunburn). It was replaced under warranty when the car was 2 years old. Even though it was a 'wear and tear' item, it's been a common complaint and VW had decided to handle it under warranty. That may be the one and only time that VW has actually impressed me.

You might also want to ask around at a few different dealerships. Some of them have more pull with the regional rep and can make miracles happen.
