Yeah, they're available through parts suppliers. Weirdly expensive though, like $60-$80 each.

Part numbers are:

140826188064
1408261780

Too much for a seal

Funny, I ordered an upper headlight seal for the driver's side (P/N A 140 826 03 80) of my 1996 S500 from my dealer on June 18 (I have the receipt in front of me) for the whopping list price of CAD$22.71.

I have the seal now and plan to install it tomorrow morning before it gets too hot out.

Looks like I might have to eat my words on this one. I tried to install my new Genuine MB seal, ordered at the dealer using my VIN in EPC, only to find that the old seal was bonded to a plastic frame which my new seal does not have. Not only that, but the features on the new seal don't align with those on the frame at all. It really looks like they're incompatible. I'll be going back to my dealer asking for a refund and the proper part with plastic frame next week . . .

Just to close the loop on this topic, after first being sold an incorrect part based on my VIN in EPC, I got my new, correct driver side seal today - P/N 140-826-17-80. It cost me around CAD$90 instead of twenty-some dollars for the wrong seal, but it was an easy install and fit perfectly. Interestingly, the item description on the invoice reads "SEAL, TAIL" so either this is a multi-purpose seal or there is something funny going on with EPC.

Cheers

Oh yeah, I've noticed that on multiple parts suppliers that sell via EPC. They're listed as taillight seals, but they're just for the headlight surround.
