I haven't done anything but set the timing and replace the guides...

Regular oil changes, premium fuel, driven gently.

It MUST have been that leather wrapped dash that got 'er going, what else do you have to offer?

Yes, Electrode Gap. You need a Metric Gaping tool. Only a few bucks.

Sorry, in the first pic on https://www.benzworld.org/forums/g-cl...ange-m113.html
shows the tool. It is merely a L-Shaped calibrated wire you run through the gap and adjust the gap until there is slight resistance on the wire.

And your second question: No there is no torque value required on the M119 Coil pack. All the fastener does on the M119 is hold the "Spring" Retaining device down... the "Spring" is what is actually compressing the Pack.

Now, the M112/M113 is a different design. The bolt actually TRAVERSES the center of the coil pack..... thus, too much torque, you could "crush" the coil pack.

Hope this helps.

G
Thanks a lot for your help, G.

very nice DIY thankyou for posting!

I am interested in doing a leakdown test on a m119 engine. The results of a compression test can be quite limited. Has anyone else carried out a leakdown test on a m119 motor and if so - what % cylinder air loss did you see?
