Exclamation ASR and ABS Lights stays on?!?

Hello! My step dad has a 1993 300SE. He has a problem because the ABS and ASR light comes on out of no where while driving or starting the car and it just stays on. He wants to know what the problem is and how to solve the problem. Thank You.

check out the brake lamp switch, that could cause the lights to come up. depress the brake peddel all the way while starting the car, if the lights didnt come on thats most likely the switch. if you let go it will come back on. i just had the same problem awhile back. 17.98 for the part. easy fix.

I apply the brakes first then I turned on the car while holding the brakes down, and both lights stayed on, with the engine running!?!

BTW: Where is the brake switch located in the car?

do the lights come on without the car moving at all??
I would be inclined to check all the fuses, including the ones in the coffin box,

Torque isn't cheap

Cool

For some time i've had my abs/esp/ads lights all come on at the same time until recently when someone suggested starting the auto, then turn the steering wheel all the way to the left and then all the way to the right and the back to center....i did....all of the lights immediately went out and haven't come back on for several days!

but....he also suggested that if this continues to happen, then it very well may be the steering angle sensor and may need to be replaced. i'm sure it's not an expensive sensor.

good luck!
