wiring harness replacement

Mine's still intact, no telltale signs of a faulty harness, but knowing they have the tendency to fail, I like to know what I am dealing with here...

What kind of wiring harness is it that requires replacement under the hood? (Injector harness? What other major sensors does it connect to?) How much is it? How difficult is it (hour wise in terms of labour)

Thanks [;)]

RE: wiring harness replacement

Per the invoice for our S600:

Quote:
Replace main engine/body harness.
As a courtesy, our dealership charged USD $6,000, but the other dealership quoted a price that exceeded $10,000. According to the invoice, the operation required forty hours of labor; however, the aforementioned "other" dealership would have charged for around seventy hours.

The dealership required precisely one month to commit the repairs.

wow [:0]

My car isn't even worth $10k US!!! If it ever happens I will have to take it out of comission, and use my trusty volkswagen until weather permits and tackles the 40 hr labour myself.

RE: wiring harness replacement

I replaced my injector harness which included the sensors (coolant, timing, etc) because the injector harness looked bad. The rest of the wiring is good. The injector harness cost me $ 400.00. My car is a 95 S600. I doubt you have to replace all the wiring.
