1988 - 560SEL - Cracked Frame

Hi all,

I came across an interesting ad today about a 1988 - 560SEL for sale for pretty cheap. Approx. 130K miles and it needs the starter to be replaced ($300 starter is included)

The primary issue is that the current owner believes that the frame is cracked.

Here are some pictures, let me know your thoughts:

Car is junk , once the frame rusts like that it cannot be repaired cost effectively , unless you find a guy like this who only charges $100 lol

At a shop this would be a multi thousand dollar repair , Good for parts car only

Yeah, anything is possible. The question is, how much can you afford? For what you'd have to spend to fix it you could probably buy 2 or 3 that don't need the work.

*4, it's sadly only a parts car now unless you've won the job or real life lottery.

It's a shame how rust destroys these cars.

Yeah, that's what I thought.... parts car only.

Here;s the link to the ad:

I don't think that I could find someone who will do the job for an amount similar to the one quoted in this thread:

Underbody metal welding is the cheapest thing one can do on a MB.
