Has anyone tried this first gear start?

It is Talbir's #11 post.

Just want some feedback from anyone who has done it.

The one I meant to try was posted up recently and incredibly simple. But I can't remember who it how! Was it Correlian Corvette?
It was really easy and you could have a switch on the console but that's all I remember.

I looked through his posts. I saw one in which he responded to SirFerret about building a box that replicated the bergwerks module. Looks like Mclare did some work in this area but his was more expensive in terms of taking the interior apart.

Someone did post that shifting into 3rd then back into drive will put it into 1st gear. I tried it last night and honestly could not tell. Also, it seems like some time back there was a post in which there was a modification in which the person installed a switch that put it into 1st gear. The thing I (seem) to remember is that they had an AMG sticker on it or something like that. This could have been 2 or 3 years ago or 10...I cannot remember exactly anymore.

I did this exact mod in my coupe. It works great! Found the module at the yards. $5 bucks I think?

I saw your pictures. They were intense! More that I want to muster just now. I am looking at doing the mod in a bit. I just had a few essentials to knock out first. Thanks for the feedback. It has convinced me I need to do this mod.

My 1991 560sec has that module and is wired through the economy/standard switch on the trans shifter gate. Honestly I hardly ever use it. If I want a jack rabbit start I just floor it and the kick down switch engages first gear anyway.

That use of the E or S switch is way better, are you saying it triggers the 1st gear start Gogi?
The E programme is rubbish anyway, I'd much rather have it as a 1st gear start switch.
