W126 front shock question

Getting ready to replace the old Bilsteins with new Bilsteins on the front of my W126.

Noticed that EPC shows "rubber buffers" and "dust cap" over the shaft of the shock.

My car currently does not have them.

Surprisingly, MB still sells them.

They are not cheap, but not crazy expensive either ($44. for the set).

Do most of our cars still have these and mine probably got tossed by some careless mechanic?

Is it best to have these parts installed or are they overkill?

No those buffers are suposed to limit the travel of the suspension. There are different colored ones for different types of suspension, springs and shocks. I would put them back in
