Hengst PS oil filter

I changed my power steering oil and filter today. The new Hengst filter confused me by putting their labeling on the bottom of the filter. Initially I installed so that I could read their logo but realized the filter was in upside down. I flipped it over and everything fits together nicely. Am I the only one that thinks they should print their logo on the side that faces up?

jzchen, the plastic level indicator and the other parts are on my workbench. I installed all parts before I took a test drive. I'll post other info and pictures on my old PS gearbox rebuild thread by the end of this week.

Thank you! I do believe you make a good point in if the label is up you can see the part number and order a replacement, before tearing things apart...

Don't feel bad, I didn't know they had a filter either until I rebuilt the pump in my former 300SE

Or you could do as I do, buy a couple of extra filters to have on hand. I have enough oil and PS filters for the next couple of years since the local parts houses don't carry the brands I use.

OH, FWIW, I saw a video a couple of weeks ago and will NEVER use Fram ever again, junk "filters" that even brand new have rust inside

Fram’s cheap filters seem, cheap, but the expensive ones seem a lot better, (Ultra Guard line has better specs than Mobil 1 Extended Performance, with A at end of part #)....
