Door seals.

Can anyone recommend a good place to buy genuine MB door seals for an SEC? The dealer price is nuts.

Hi there,

I'm thinking it's gonna be helpful should you list those part numbers you need.

don't waste your time with anything but MB rubber. mboemparts.com is 26% off list, not tax (saving another 5-8.25%) and no shipping with the code (available here as a sponsor) saving another $25-$35. Sure beats a URO that will tear while you install it.

I replaced mine all around, its not cheap but it does restore the classic thud, fits perfect and doesn't leak. (backglass, trunk and doors)

Agreed MB only. They do cost a mint though.

I'm used to some parts for these cars being expensive but the dealer wants over $800 for two pieces of rubber. That is beyond ridiculous and no way justifiable. Gouging pure and simple.

Yes some parts are truly ridiculous pricing. But the quality of the MB rubber is incomparable with anything else.

The worst pricing I found for mine was the tiny plastic screw covers for the curtain rails in the back. 11 each. Tiny little pieces of black plastic of which you need many. Meh, I didn't bother.

We have Genuine Mercedes door seal clips and URO aftermarket door seals for the 560SEC. Despite the above comments, we haven't received warranty requests or complaints about them.

I'm going to order a couple and give them a try, I just can't bring myself to pay $800+ for two pieces of rubber. Call me cheap but that is just effing ridiculous. If they don't work I will have to suck it up but at 1/10th of the price I have to give it a shot.

Sometimes the aftermarket rubber does not even fit right. My URO antenna seal went right into the trash because it does not fit. Probably wrong year production but that was not specified as they only had one part number for all years (W201)

No sense in asking for a refund for a $15 part in my case, but door seals would be more pricey.

Good luck with that adventure, most likely you will put your originals back on in my opinion.

Cheers!

For $42 a door as opposed to $400 I'm willing to take a chance. I can always send them back.
