So this pic was in the packet of things that came with the 88 SEC I bought a few months ago. Anyone familiar with this person?

i remember posting the CL link to that car when I was searching for a w126, and right after I opted to go with the black on black SEL that I ended up getting. I recall the seller telling me that your car had been previously repainted (altho it wasnt clear if he meant just the AMG parts? Or the entire car) and said "it could use another respray". (or something like that).

Hows the car been to you? Hows the condition of the paint, and overall?

Just the lower portion and add on kit were resprayed to match the rest. It looks great from a few feet but there are some scratches, door dings and a couple places you can tell a car cover was blowing in the wind and rubbed some of the clear coat off one fender at the front. Nothing terrible. There are some small issues he neglected that I can fix, deferred maintenance stuff most of these cars have go wrong. I might have it resprayed at some point as the interior is in really good shape and it runs and drives like new. I don't care how low the mileage is, on a 30 year old car there are going to be things you have to sort unless it was really babied its whole life. First thing I had done was the chain and tensioners, he didn't know if they had been done and I didn't want to chance it. Next up is the seat belt presenter on the drivers side. Ordered a new gear and will give that a shot when I get a chance.

How cool is that? Thanks. I have paperwork with that guys name (Bruce Mendel) on it and the name seemed familiar. I bought it from the guy he sold it to so it's good to have verification that everything is on the up and up. I said the same thing he did when I first drove it, " This car really goes." My 91 runs just fine and I just figured it was the norm but this is different to the point I was thinking I got lucky and bought a 300 HP Euro without knowing it. Wish it still had those wheels, it came with staggered OZ 3 piece so it could certainly have been worse. Thanks again!
