History of BILSTEIN

Hey all,

I have used Bilstein shocks on all my cars since I became aware a very few years ago, in 1973.

More recently, our S70 Volvo has B/steins all around. Great result!

Lastly, my C-126s have benefitted.

Since 2004, my '87 USA version has 'em: [B6 Comfort] in front. Std. SLS rear.

Since 2018, my 1991 Euro 500SEC is really quite different. H&Rs & Bilstein B8 shocks an all 4 corners, the stance has been improved greatly, and the ride & handling, though stiffer, is great overall. K & I drive all over New England in the car happily & in style.

I am pleased with both iterations.

I saw this today:
Please pardon the really stupid image.

Please pardon the really stupid image.

I just posted the url, as I have for years... Uffa...

Gosh, the presenter speaks so fast.. I am older, I guess... Anyways, I found interesting... Thought you might find interesting.

Those are H&R springs I got from TireRack.. and yes, I like the lowered look & feel.
I'll feel more comfortable after I install the skid plate in a month or so..

Hardway, you've just lowered yours by cutting the front coils a bit, as I recall.

You had marked the camber eccentrics and carefully put things back as they were.

Take a look at the camber washer on mine which was aligned at the MB shop as part of the big suspension job last Summer...
Both L & R sides look that way. It's a big difference.

As the car tracks dead straight & the steering wheel is as it should the, they must have gotten it right.

M

Others with lowered cars may chime in on that score too...
