Noticed a cracked fog on the drivers side. Went onto eBay and found a new piece for a good price. snapped it up

Also note the front bumper is in desperate need of a re=paint, poor prep whoever painted it

The cracked

yeah you know the feeling. made for a nice early xmas gift. I'm just lucky my fiance is supportive of my car addiction. she took off on a solo euro trip last year for 5 weeks so try and keep her doing the things she loves too.... edit: I would have joined her but 5 weeks is a little outside my yearly PTO! Lucky nurses

FINALLY I CAN SAY SOMETHING ABOUT THIS GREAT CAR!!! The more I heard about it the better it sounded. I know you had been looking for a replacement SEC for awhile , but you hit the mother load. I always say everything happens for a reason and put good Karma out there, good Karma will come your way! I am so glad you got this car you deserve it and I know it will be well taken car of and enjoyed for years to come.

Thanks Bob. The feeling I got when I went and started her up for a mid winter spin around the block was pretty neat. She fired right up after sitting about 8 weeks - she idles really nice (better than my last one) and it feels good to be back in a w126

Parts are already accruing in the apartment. It is a sickness fellas

I'll 2nd the "sickness" but oh what a sickness it is wanting our cars to be the best condition as possible.

It's amazing how excited I get buying parts (eg. fuel lines) that most people would resent having to buy. Hence why owning a cool car you actually look forward to driving makes the whole ownership experience a positive one, even during the tough times.

Here is the 1st pic taken of the Widebody by the fella I bought it from

He found out it had been sitting out in the back lot at his local Mercedes dealership for many months. A quote had been given to the current owner to fix a few things up and he was not motivated to proceed. The car continued to sit until the shop manager rang the owner and said listen do you want us to do the work or you want to pick it up? The owner asked if they knew anyone who wanted to buy it.

The shop manager rang up his buddy and said hey I have this old Benz out the back I know your into the old ones - you want to come and look at it... so he went down to check it out and he ended up buying it.

Amazing to think how these cars wind up in these odd situations.

The burning question is - sub $20k steal? If so, you certainly did very, very well.

A 35k mile stock 560SEC would have fetched close to that, if not more and this widebody seems to have fallen under the radar of a few people out there who have been looking for one.
