Guess I'm a real schmuck! (since I bought a can). Given it's a good quality product, I don't care

Of course not. the only people that care are the ones that don't see that kind of money as like a penny, who will never miss it anyway.

Which is almost everybody else.

And thanks for the tip.

Unfortunately, no I don't. I haven't really looked however. Not sure if there would be a whole lot of savings buying it in a differently branded container.

Also, the BMW Sunroof Grease is a worthy substitute, if not as robust. The only difference (I can see) between the BMW and MB Grease (besides the significant price diff) is that the BMW grease doesn't seem to hold up anywhere near as well to UV/heat exposure. I accidentally left my freshly-lubed sunroof rails outside during a 92F day in direct sunlight and by evening, the BMW grease was VERY dark in color, and didn't seem to work anywhere near as well. Haven't had this issue with the MB grease.

For this reason, I probably would use the BMW grease if you have a metal panel sunroof, and NOT use it if you have a glass sunroof. My .02

The VW sunroof paste P/N is G 000 450 02. A 90 gram tube costs roughly $30 in the US. FWIW Webasto supplied sunroof assemblies to VAG as well as MB.

How does one go about applying the lube and how often, is there a document with photos detailing the procedure somewhere? Thanks!

So I looked around...

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Mercedes-Be...4383.l4275.c10

Also, this is touted as a great alternative that can also be used on window regulators and wiper transmission gears...

I would also like to know this, someone please. Mine has been sticking lately. Not sliding back and forth as it should

Along the rails and on moving parts like hinges.

Less is more. Clean before and after so as not to leave lumps of grease to collect dirt.

Recommended at every oil change, some do it every year.
