sunroof tubing problem

ok i have searched the archives and im still having trouble finding what i need , in my sunroof cavity is the cable and the tube it runs thru or rather is guided through , well that tubing is bent and the cable is ow coiled up outside of it ,,, how hard is to replace the tubing and cable , , if anyone has any information or can guide me it would greatly be appreciated

This is from the FSM. It contains all the jobs necessary.
This is a 126 chassis, that's in your avatar pic, but you list a couple of 300D's, that would be a 123 chassis.

thanks rmac but wow its a task huh , anyway i thank you for the information , and i have a few mercedes diesel and gassers both 123 and 126 bodies

Yeah, looks pretty involved. I'm sure it would a similar procedure on a 123.

He said the tubing is kinked, not the cable. If that's the case, I think you are kinda screwed. You will have to remove the headliner and the "C" pillar covers and I still do not know if you can even get to it then. I had all of that out when I was rebuilding my car and sunroof and you can't really see the guide tube until it comes forward. It is clearly laid in there when the roof panels are being welded in the body shop main assembly. Short of cutting an access hole in your lower roof.??

I have done last year a whole sunroof change! I have changed the sunroof frame also, all the elements!
The headliner must to be removed and C pillar covers too...The sunroof cable and tubing must to be disconected from the sunroof motor! After that the tubing can be changed as in the pdf description presented above!

Good to know! I would not have thought that you could get it out... I need to change out my motor soon.

It is much more easyer than apears! I think in that pdf above they are some info about the sunroof motor too...
