Open down pipes on tri y AMG cast headers

http://jono.mbfans.net/opendownpipes.avi

A video I took after dropping my motor back in.. Max RPM is about 3K. Smoke is the coating on the headers.

Hope ya'll enjoy it as much as I did;-)

Is that the same video you showed me a while back? I never knew those were AMG headers, I thought they were the Euro headers.

yup, same video.. These are the manifolds that AMG would use on their full on engines.
The picture below shows them nicely:)

RE: Open down pipes on tri y AMG cast headers

Didn't know you picked up some AMG headers. Not too much different than the factory euro 4-peice manifolds but flow a little more. Sold mine with downpipes a long time ago and wish I hadn't. I used to fire up my old 190E 3.8 euro with a 420SEL intake and throttle with only the exhaust manifolds on, no downpipes. Just evil sounding, backfiring and popping. A man who lived about a block down the road in the closest residential area walked over to the shop and stated: "I'm gonna call the law!" That was the end of that. Next time we fired it up was with a glasspack and flowmaster. Actually didn't sound too much different!

amg 5.2 puts 300HP.. then why the mercedes made a 5.6L euro for 300HP output.. now AMG just sound like a more efficent engine design and mercedes tactic to rip cash..hahahahahhaahha [8D]

Fuel economy!! whats that??

Fantastic!!, when(not if, when) I get myself an SEC that's the road I'm gonna travel, shame that noise like that isn't the kind of sound for a sedan, but an SEC...you bet!, brutal old school muscle car material[:p]

It doesn't have a name...it's just a car
