Ditto on removing the key before getting out of the car.
Easiest "upgrade" of all and it costs zilch. Don't even need to break out a screwdriver.
If that can't be done, just unplug it and live without it. You're not missing out on anything.
Just be happy you don't have a newer car that simulates a inbound North Korean missile alert as soon as you take off before buckling up. So annoying.
Has there ever been a modification that you've endorsed? For Pete sakes, this isn't a thread about how you can live with your car the way it is, its a thread on how you can modify it simply and cheaply to be the way you want it to be. Just because Mercedes designed it that way over 20 years ago doesn't mean it's the end all be all of engineering, or that all people will like it the way it is.
Also, unplugging it really isn't a better solution either....
This is awesome, I'm going to look into doing something similar on my 83 733i, the buzzer in that thing is brutal.
