I'm about 2 hours away from there so it's fine, but thanks for the offer. Do you know any other place I can get these parts for cheaper?

I have witnessed friends replace springs on my car, 3-4 hours is reasonable. Adding the shocks to it 4 1/2 hours seems reasonable. I think the going rate around me is about $500 for labor for just springs. Not sure about springs but tirerack had the Bilstein's for about $400 (all 4) . Not sure how much the Springs are.

This is something I feel uncomfortable doing myself or with people at my school. There aren't to many people that can help me and also the guys who are doing the suspension are doing the alignment for FREE. I think labor is good, but parts are making this expensive.

Be sure to vet the alignment guys before letting them touch your car. First off, make sure they have the factory alignment specs for your specific year and model vs. a W124 in general. The W124 came in all shapes and sizes and all have their own alignment settings.

Second, be sure to ask if they have a spreader bar and know how to use one properly on these cars. If not, that is not the alignment shop for your car.

Exactly which Bilsteins are you getting? Matching up springs and shocks is a balanced act. Get one or the other wrong and you are not going to be a happy puppy.

I don't buy stuff off fleaBay anymore since more than a decade. Too much knock off crap floating around on there.

Those prices seem really on the low end of the scale if they're genuine.

As the saying goes, if it sounds too good to be true then . . . well you know the rest.

And if you're putting in springs and shocks, you should really inspect the rest of the suspension and steering components prior to starting the works. Chances are you're going to find worn ball joints, bushings, idler arm, etc, etc, etc.

Getting the car into proper alignment is going to be a challenge if the rest of the stuff is worn, as is usually the case.

Also don't forget the incidental bits and pieces you are going to need such as shock tower mounts, dust boots, and bump stops. Also be prepared to replace the plastic clip on pieces that hold the ABS sensor wiring. These parts usually fall to pieces due to age when being disturbed.

They're genuine I bet, the price is very similar everywhere BUT there are other suspension options like these Stagg 4 struts and shocks and springs I found for like 320$
