1- Driving at target speed 100 km/h (62.5 mph). I know, slow, but it's manageable for me since I'm calm.
2- A/C on.
3- Ambient temp. is ~40C and got up to 46C in occasions.
4- Coolant temp. never goes below 85C, most of the time 90C and in occasions 95-100C.
5- Mechanical engine fan works so much because of the above two.
6- At least 6 cold starts thru the experiment, if I remember correctly.
7- 90% highway.
8- Engine starts with difficulty due to some problem. It takes like 4 tries, and when it runs, it vibrates for while before stabilizing.

I had no quick accelerations at all, but I had 10% city drive. Driving would have been so boring if it wasn't a nice W124 while listening to my eccentric music. I feel if I take it for a one go 100% highway drive, it could reach 25 MPG. It's been +10,000 KM since rebuilding the engine, so I guess it's broken in well now. I noticed that in same driving conditions, different engine oils did not make a difference, or at least a worthy noticeable one. I used conventional 20W50, semi-synth 10W40 and full synth 5W40. This last try was with the semi-synth and I decided to go with it from now on to have a balance in price and protection.
That seems about normal for your climate with AC on. 46c is brutal.

Seems like a very reasonable mpg/mpk return. I would stop hunting for more until you've put a few thousand miles on it and changed engine oil a couple of times. Are you running break in oil or ?

Summer just started. We do see higher temps than this. This car has seen 49C before. Now that's crazy!

Nope, this is the 4th change, I just remembered. Break in oil changed after 1000 km, next two after 5000 km each, and this one is on its ~3800 km.

I've decided to make the engine oil change a 5000 km interval on either mineral or semi-synth.

Update:
For those interested, I moved to regular gas (AKI/PON of 87 or RON of 91) (I don't recommend doing that) and tested the MPG under these conditions:
1- 90% highway speed driving @100 km/h (62.5 mph).
2- Used A/C once only. It's cold these days.
3- On AKI 87 EZL-KAT position.
4- 3/4 fuel tank used.
5- Just a couple heavy acceleration shifting the gears down.
6- Did the test two times after getting of as much AKI 91 gas as possible of previous fills.
7- Filling from gas stations with good reputation names, some of which are new (the station not the name).

And got 24 MPG. I don't just give an impotent MPG number without clarifications like I think the internet does.
