Most everyone on this forum would tell you it is worth the personal investment, but it may not be worth the financial investment. Or in other words, do not look for a return on financial investment...we all do it for a labor of love. However, throwing a Chevy engine in it will cost you even more. The key to minimizing money drain is to learn how to do the work yourself. Nothing is so daunting that a reasonably proficient person can not handle on these cars.

With that said, I see that this car is a 4matic. That is one word that will stop me from buying any car.

I have several wiring harnesses (E300/320 and E400/420), ETA's, side/tail/headlights and trim for sale. I can also get requested parts from local JYs. PM me.

if you are looking for another W124 and you don't mind if its a wagon, then there's a very good 124 wagon for sale, he is a member in this forum, his nickname is @sbaert . you can contact him. but you should keep on the repair services he has done.

if you want to repair your car then I would say that there's a huge information that is available in this forum in exception of the members. The 124 chassis is considered the best chassis built by Mercedes-Benz.

Regarding you 300CE, you said that the radiator light turned on, I think you meant the warning light of low coolant level turned on, so there might be a leak or the engine is burning the coolant which indicates that head gasket is going to fail soon.

do your math and see which option is better to take.

Good Luck.
