Creaks? Squeaks? Rattles? Post them up!

I've got 2 in my car. One rattle I know is the speaker grill on the right (passenger) side of the dash. The other one is coming from the same area just on the driver side, but I can not track it down. I even took a video of it:

Anyone had a similar one?

I'm hoping that we can get some of the common ones figured out and posted up in this thread. In my opinion tracking these noises down is one of the worst parts about owning a car.

Sorry I can't help with your noises. The most annoying of the noises I hear from time to time is the creaking that comes from the seat belt height adjuster on the "B" pillar.

Theres a squeak comes from somewhere on my drivers side door pocket. But only when its cold, so it never really hangs around long enough for me to look into it. And I don't really work on the car when its cold out either. So I guess I will just live with it for now.

Clunking

I have a clunking/rattle in my 95 E320
sound pass rear (only hear it on washboard type bumps). I have been looking for it for 3 years! I still haven't found it. I assume it's in the rear suspension, but for the life of me I can't find it.

I had a clunking noise on a previous car, turned out the rear sway links were just loose, have you checked those?

I just re-checked EVERYTHING! All links bushings on the rear 2 days ago.. pushed pulled checked bushings and still haven't found anything loose or worn.

The thing that drives me crazy isn't rattles - it's wind noise. I replaced the front door seals for just that reason. Didn't help. I might take them back out and re-install them. Having the car be so wonderfully quiet around town, only to get noisy on the highway, gives me a facial tic.

My wife, who drives an old Camry, thinks I'm a nutjob. "This is the quietest car I've ever been in," she says.

Pull off the door panels and tighten up the wood trim. I'll betcha that's it - it fixed mine right up.

Cool, might try that. Although the thermometer hit -17c in my driveway today. I'll probably just leave it for a few more days X)

I had a similar one but it was on the driver side. However, after a while later that sound just disappeared and fixed it by itself.. Now, the speaker grill on the passenger side is giving me some random clicking sounds only when going through bumps..

Here are my 2 cents and this learned from a hard lesson. If your front speakers are NOT broken, DO NOT replace them. The original speaker fit SO tight with the housing, and when you replace them with after-market speakers, it might give you some random clicking sounds in the future.. That's just my observation. I'm amazed by how precise German engineering was 20 years ago...
