It pulls straight off the metal shaft. If it does not come off easily, a small flat-blade screwdriver or plastic interior trim wedge inserted behind can “encourage” it off the shaft.

Just take it easy...and take your time.

If you need a knob, PM me.

it should just pull straight off. its likely very stiff if its not been removed for the 25-ish years since new. using a knob puller will likely help, htats a springy U-shaped tool with two hooks that reacch around behind the knob.

The replacement knobs from Turkey (or Poland?) are not of the same quality.
They are lower quality and the center portion where the light comes through is an insert that is not always the cleanest. (usually has nubs from where it was cut off from the molding)
But they don't have and of the grippy coating to get chewed up.

Becker Autosound has knobs ~$30, but I don't know if they are of same quality either. Only have experience with the Turkish ones.

Yes, unfortunately pretty expensive for a $2 poti. It came to $58 with shipping. Once I get it I will check for a part number and post it if there is one. I also tried to get the poti mention earlier in this thread from digi key but they have minimum order quantities of 1500 (!).
