WTB - Firewall Cover/Shield

Looking for the plastic panel that covers the passenger side firewall and the relays and connections in that area.. Since this is for a 400E I'm not sure if it will be the same as on a 260/300E, but figured I would ask. Part number is 124 626 16 30 and it's number 10 in the diagram below.

Got one? PM me.

And everyone has come through with my previous requests for stuff - thanks!

Thanks for the offer, Dave, but I’m not talking about the apparatus box. The area immediately behind it has/had a plastic cover that shielded the area where the terminal blocks and relays are located, just below the cowl.

I’m looking for that black plastic cover. You can google the part number I gave and see a number of pictures of it.

Thanks,

Dan

Dan, most all .034/.036 did not come with that plastic cover from the factory. The only car I've ever seen with it was a mid-1991 build 500E. I think MB phased it out quite early in the production run. I had been trying to find the same thing for my later cars, but eventually gave up. Best chance would be finding an very early build car being parted out.

I'm not sure why it went away on the V8 cars only, unless the primary function was to separate the battery from the electronics / relays? Since the V8 cars have the battery in the trunk, maybe that has something to do with it...

That would explain why I have rarely seen them.

I am surprised that they wouldnít want these in place, considering that youíve got not only a major termination point for chassis power in the area as well as a number of relays/modules that could potentially be damaged from outside.

1994 E320 Wagon, No reverse

My wagon lost reverse about a week ago. I have decided I don't want to deal with a tranny swap, so I will sell it whole or part it if no interest. It has about 190K, some small rust spots, and MANY new parts. It is still drives, just no reverse. In the last year or so I have done the following work:

All new control arms front and rear, most of the bushings
Rebuilt tandem pump
New OEM level valve (less than 500 miles)
New spheres
16" rims from I think an R129 with Michelin Premiers (about 5K miles on them)
Sachs shocks
Forward rear subframe bushings (have the rear, but haven't installed)
Both fuel pumps and filter
Correct plugs, bosch MAF, coils, and wires
Continental (Kienzle) stereo with Car Audio speakers front and rear
It already had an update wiring harness, ETA appears to be original
After market cat and Einspecher exhaust
Along with all correct fluids, several sensors, etc
I will also throw in a diff tool with the bushings, spring compressors, and an HFM tool.

Paint has some typical issues, but looks good from 20 feet. If you have an extra tranny or inclined to swap, it would make a great driver.

I'm looking for $1000. If I don't get much interest in it as a whole, I will pull the easily sold parts and junk the rest. Feel free to post/PM any parts you are interested in. (Jayare has dibs on the diff tool and there is interest in the tandem pump).

OK, this is a trivial L-shaped thing, near as I can tell, that helps hold the airbox to the fender.
